Today I met with Martin and Karen from Govia Thameslink to discuss Thameslink and Great Northern services from Huntingdon station.
Additional services are due to be introduced to increase peak time trains by two and as the service switches to digital onboard signalling there will be some Sunday service disruption with a bus transfer between St Neots and Bedford in order to continue onward journeys on 2-3 weekends during the remainder of this year; please check the schedule before travelling.
The ASLEF industrial action should now have been resolved pending agreement of the Government’s pay offer.
New rolling stock will shortly be introduced from repurposed Stansted Express trains and a new schedule, agreed after consultation in 2021, due to be implemented at the end of 2025. This would improve the frequency of the service and I shall be seeking clarification from the Transport Secretary as to when this might be introduced.
