A visit today to Huntingdon Compressor Station, a key piece of national infrastructure here in the constituency which is integral to the delivery of gas nationwide.
The gas network is responsible for a third of our electricity generation and the compressor, as well as the interlinks with European infrastructure in Norway, Belgium and the Netherlands, facilitates the delivery to our homes at a cost of only £8 a year to each of us. It’s arguably one of the most important pieces of infrastructure in the country that you had no idea exists.
