This week I had the opportunity to meet with the Home Secretary the Rt Hon James Cleverly MP in order to discuss policing issues impacting Huntingdonshire.
It was important to highlight a range of issues including rural crime and antisocial behaviour as well as focusing upon the reduced level of funding received by Cambridgeshire Constabulary owing to the Net Revenue Expenditure funding formula. I remain committed to addressing this funding shortfall after speaking to Chief Constable Nick Dean earlier this year and identifying this as the solution to ensuring better resourcing and therefore an improved presence across both our town centres and rural villages.
