Really productive to be able to spend some time at Hinchingbrooke Hospital this afternoon for a briefing from the Programme Director Luke De Lord on the current plans for the rebuild of the hospital as part of the New Hospitals Programme.
Important to understand the challenges facing delivery of the project and the scale of the task, particularly considering the sheer number of Government departments - Treasury, Health, Home Office, Transport, DESNZ - involved in the decision making process and ensuring that the various blockers are addressed and that the programme can meet its 2030 deadline.
I have a host of clarifications for Government Ministers and will continue to probe in order to ensure these are prioritised to facilitate the stages required before we can get spades in the ground.
