This week I met with Alconbury Flood Group as they brought together a multi-agency meeting, along with Cambridgeshire County Council, Huntingdonshire District Council, Highways and the Internal Drainage Board, to discuss the blocked arches at The Nun’s Bridge.
The slippage from the western bank, blocking two of the arches, contributes to flooding in Hinchingbrooke Country Park and further upstream at Huntingdonshire Racecourse.
As the riparian owner Cambridgeshire County Council holds the responsibility for clearing the blockage and it was very useful to have them in attendance to discuss the next steps.
