A really important discussion this afternoon with Cambridgeshire Constabulary’s Chief Constable Nick Dean.
Having raised the issue of fairer police funding for Cambridgeshire repeatedly in Parliament, including an in-depth debate in the Ajournment debate last week, it was hugely valuable to discuss the impact with Nick.
Cambridgeshire Constabulary already punches above its weight in a number of areas, from falling crime rates to good recruitment and retention figures, but fairer funding is essential in ensuring that the growing population in this county is properly protected.
Very useful to catch up on funding, police pay and how many officers Cambridgeshire will receive from Labour’s neighbourhood policing pledge.
