Today I met with Graham Verrier, one of the Area Directors for Cambridgeshire, during the Environment Agency drop-in within Parliament.
Very useful to discuss recent flooding issues in the constituency with him and draw out some of the areas where there is scope to provide a more timely and effective response to flood events, particularly following issues during recent flooding in Brampton and St. Ives.
I will look to liaise with the EA in order to provide some smaller funding pots for local Flood Action Groups in order to give them ownership of some equipment such as road signage that may help to mitigate immediate flooding impact.
I look forward to working with Graham and his fellow Area Director Sadia as we seek to improve the flood response in the constituency this winter.
