“Being a Lead Flood Authority doesn’t mean we are the lead agency in addressing a response to flooding”.
After writing to Dr Stephen Moir, Chief Executive of Cambridgeshire County Council, following the recent flooding in the constituency, particularly those instances in Hansell Road and Centenary Way in Brampton and Whitecross in St. Ives, I received the response above.
I raised the issue of the lack of coordination across the multi-agency response and requested that the Leader of the House of Commons makes space in the Parliamentary schedule in order to discuss the roles and responsibilities of multi-agency flood response coordination.
