This week I had the opportunity to visit East Anglian Galvanising Ltd in Sawtry.
Hugely interesting to find out more about the business and the process of galvanising from industrial scale items like lamp post covers (pictured), turkey crates and cherry-picker baskets to individual pieces like a garden gate that are dropped off by local people the process is the same.
Good to hear about their efforts to reduce the emissions from the process with their HGV fleet converted to run on vegetable oil as well as using other sustainable sources on what can be an energy intensive process.
Also nice to finally get the obligatory hardhat and lumi-vest photo in a factory that marks you out to be a real politician.
