Hackney North & Stoke Newington Campaign RoundUp Week 1:
A great start to the official launch to my Campaign in Hackney North and Stoke Newington. Having effectively already conducted a soft launch as we eased into proceedings following my selection as the PPC, the launch proper took place once we had received the literature necessary to distribute across the Constituency with our delivery network.
Owing to the short period within which we will be able to campaign, the onus will very much be on ensuring that as many people as possible within the Constituency are aware of who their Conservative PPC is for this election, and to that end trying to ensure people are able to put a name (and a story) to a face.
Our initial distribution focused on Clissold ward where our determined teams took advantage of the unseasonally mild weather and ensured that we were able to cover the ward as the distribution teams fanned out in all directions. In previous years we’ve lacked the resources to cover the ground within the Constituency, but having hit the area en masse there was a sense of both surprise and support as we made our way from door-to-door. A solid session totalling 8hrs saw us distribute the entire box of leaflets we’d brought with us that day, exceeding expectations and giving us some excellent foundations upon which to build over the remainder of the Campaign.
The next step will be to leaflet the outer reaches of the Constituency, speaking to those people away from the heart of Dalston and Stoke Newington, and to ensure that our presence is felt throughout the area, where people will hopefully appreciate that we intend to reach everyone, despite the truncated time period we are working within.
