A really important meeting this evening with the St. Ivo Parents Forum. There are grave concerns amongst parents, staff and pupils about the management of the school by the Astrea Multi-Academy Trust since the appointment of its current CEO two years ago. Issues of safeguarding were particularly alarming with multiple accounts of instances where individual welfare could have been at risk.
Having already met with NASUWT representatives to discuss the teachers view of the issues it was vital to now hear parents' voices.
I will continue to liaise with stakeholders and if elected will push to meet with the Senior Leadership of the school in order to challenge them regarding the concerning practices occurring within the school and the lac of transparency in addressing the concerns of parents.
