Really important to cover local issues within their scope. This morning we discussed:
Buckden landfill, the impact of its poor management and the potential for the EA to take action against FCC.
Envar Incinerator and the proposed permit for the site which because of high public interest will be subject to a public consultation and a chance for impacted local residents to have their say.
Flooding issues, the prioritisation of areas from Alconbury to St. Ives and establishing a quarterly multi-agency meeting.
Watercourse management infrastructure and the need to ensure that long-term provision is made for the Middle Level, particularly the replacement of St Germans Pumping Station.
A hugely valuable meeting and one that will be a regular meeting going forward.
