“This Government makes no apology for taking quick action to ensure that we have got the energy security and energy supply of the future….We are mindful of community concerns when it comes to these decisions but we’re not going to let that stand in our way of ensuring that once again we can have energy security.”
Today I had the opportunity to raise the proposed Warboys Incinerator in Parliament with the Leader of the House of Commons and asked her if she could make time in the schedule for a debate about the impact of energy infrastructure on our rural communities.
Her response did not give much confidence that the concerns of local residents are a priority for this Labour Government.
Having recently approved the Envar Incinerator and with the East Park Energy Solar Farm currently in the consultation phase, the Government appears determined to steamroller through its agenda.
